Joel Miller | Pastor

I began pastoring Columbus Mennonite Church in 2013. As a pastor I have the honor of walking with people through the sacred events of life, and challenging us to recognize all of life as sacred. I’m grateful for all the ways this congregation lives out its calling to be a community of grace and peace.
I grew up on a farm in Bellefontaine, Ohio but have lived my adult life in urban areas. Our backyard chickens, garden, and wood burning stove help me experience country in the city. Before moving to Columbus I was a pastor in Cincinnati. I am a graduate of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. My wife Abbie and I have three daughters.
Mark Rupp | Pastor of Christian Formation

I joined the staff in 2014. A large part of my role at CMC includes working with Christian Education and Small Group ministries, and I am honored to be able to walk with people and help them grow deeper in their understanding and practices of faith.
I am a graduate of The Methodist Theological School in Ohio where I earned a Masters of Divinity with a specialization in Feminist and Womanist Studies. I previously graduated from Bluffton University with a degree in music with a concentration in ministry. Before beginning seminary, I also spent 3 years with Mennonite Voluntary Service volunteering full-time with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hutchinson, Kansas. When I am not working, I like to spend my time reading, staying physically active through running, swimming, and yoga, and sitting on my porch with a crossword puzzle. There are few things I enjoy more than good conversation over a cup of tea, so feel free to contact me if you have questions or would just like to talk about life.
Laura Steiner | Church Administrator

Our family found a home at Columbus Mennonite Church after a move from Virginia in 2020, and I was delighted to join the staff as Church Administrator in 2025. I am a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and Case Western Reserve University with previous work experience in a variety of social work and education positions – and through the years have found spiritual community in Anabaptist, Presbyterian, and Episcopalian congregations in Virginia, Ohio, and Massachusetts. Here at CMC, I am regularly moved by the way the community comes together to nurture each other’s gifts, offer connection and care, and to challenge each other to cultivate beauty and justice in the broader world. I am honored to support this work as Church Administrator! Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me hanging out with my husband and daughter, reading, baking, or dreaming up a craft or gardening project to someday bring to life!
Miriam Halterman | Administrative Assistant

Columbus Mennonite Church (CMC), formerly Neil Avenue Mennonite Church, quickly became my home church while attending Ohio State University in 1987 and receiving my Masters in Elementary Education. I attended Goshen College, attaining a BA in Social Work. I grew up on a farm in Wayne County and have embraced my urban adult life with the many cultural opportunities and friendships built while in Columbus. Being newly semi-retired, I am embracing travelling and visiting my children in Providence RI and Valencia Spain as well as Mexico, and neighboring states. I continue to work two days a week at CMC for fun – great co-workers! I administer the Keeping CMC Safe (KCMCS) program, support staff as well as Christian Education and Community Life Commissions. Besides travelling, I enjoy gardening, canning, camping, walking, book club, and being in the company of many good friends.
Jeff Delcamp | Building Manager

I began working part-time at CMC in 2018 shortly after moving from Baltimore, MD where my wife Sarah and I were members of North Baltimore Mennonite Church. I have two children, Jordan and Zamira. I graduated from Messiah College with a BS in Engineering in 2007. Over the years, I’ve worked at an Ace Hardware; in various food service jobs; as an engineer designing power tools, batteries and chargers at Black and Decker; drawing up plans for solar power installations at Solar City; and working as a project manager for various civil construction projects for the State of Maryland before moving to Ohio. I’ve been an electric car enthusiast since 2004, long before they were mainstream, and am a big advocate of renewable energy, especially solar electric and heat pump technology. I also love the outdoors and enjoy cycling, cooking and gardening.
