Sunday

Adult Education

Our life of learning more of God and from each other continues on Sunday mornings during the Christian Education hour.

Demystifying Disabilities How should we as people act, think, and talk about disability? In what ways can we better recognize ableism? Join us as we go through the book “Demystifying Disability” by Emily Ladau. Led by Josh Davey and Tracey Lehman in room 21. Sept 8 – Oct 27.

What is worship? Why we do the things we do on Sunday mornings? We will explore where and when Voices Together songs and worship resources come from, consider our congregation’s worship subcultures and historical Christian worship traditions, and try out new songs and worship resources together. Facilitated by Katie Graber and meets in the sanctuary. Sept 8 – Oct 27.

Transitions We will reflect on the many transitions we undergo throughout adulthood, select a particular personal transition past or present to give attention to, and ritually mark that transition together. This is a closed group, with a new group forming every fall. Led by Joel Miller in room 22. Sept 8 – Oct 20

Hunger for Healing This class provides a guide to the spiritual exercises known as the 12 Steps and uses J. Keith Miller’s book, A Hunger for Healing: The Twelve Steps as a Classic Model for Christian Spiritual Growth. The book and accompanying DVD’s provide a starting point for sharing, discussion, and spiritual growth and healing.  No previous experience with the 12 Steps is required. Regular attendance is not required. A zoom option is available. Anyone with or without an addiction is welcome. For more info contact Steve Rolfe or Julie Hart. Meets in room 24. Sept 8 – Dec. 22.
