Columbus Mennonite Church seeks a part time (~16 hours/week) Pastor of Congregational Care to work with our pastoral and administrative team. The candidate will deepen our ministries of caring for one another and nurturing community through building relationships across the congregation, visitation and pastoral care, small group ministry, and leading portions of Sunday worship. Pastor of Congregational Care – Columbus Mennonite Church
Overview: The Pastor of Congregational Care will work with our pastoral and administrative team to deepen our ministries of caring for one another and nurturing community through visitation and pastoral care, small group development, supporting lay leaders, and leading portions of Sunday worship. The pastor will model and encourage Anabaptist faith within our active, multigenerational congregation. Primary responsibilities include:
Pastoral Care and Visitation:
- Oversee pastoral care needs of the congregation in collaboration with pastoral staff, Shepherding Commission, and lay leaders.
- Initiate visits and respond to requests
- Coordinate lay ministers extending pastoral care
- Work with the Lead Pastor and Church Administrator for funeral planning
- Meet monthly with Shepherding Commission and work with the chair to carry out the scope of their ministries
Small Group Ministry:
- Develop a vision for small group ministry that provides multiple forms of engagement
- Listen to congregational life and conversations as they pertain to small group possibilities
- Work with current leaders and develop new leaders for short and long term small groups
- Connect with new attenders seeking a small group.
Secondary responsibilities could include:
Community Life:
- Serve as the pastoral representative to Community Life’s monthly meetings. Offer support and guidance as needed.
Worship:
- Provide a pastoral presence on Sunday mornings and lead portions of worship as needed throughout the year.

Hours per week: 12-16
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Payment in line with Mennonite Church USA Pastor Salary Guidelines
Qualifications:
- MDiv, CPE preferred
- Commitment to Anabaptist theology and practice
- Prior pastoral or chaplain experience
