NNEMAP

The Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program

Located in the Victorian Village area of Columbus, NNEMAP is one of our local food pantries serving families living in or near poverty. Established in 1969, NNEMAP has become one of the largest food pantries in Franklin County. NNEMAP distributes food to more than 18,000 people each year and approximately 3,000 pounds of food each week. Although NNEMAP receives significant food donations from many sources, the main source of supply is the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Occasionally, when certain foods or other supplies are not supplied by other sources, NNEMAP purchases them from retail establishments.

Throughout the year, members of Columbus Mennonite Church support NNEMAP through gifts of food. Shortly after Thanksgiving, we also buy items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shampoo, soap, and deodorant for grooming kits, which NNEMAP then gives to indigent people in December.

CMC's contact person for NNEMAP is Al Bauman.
