Welcome to Columbus Mennonite Church (CMC)! At CMC, our faith is very important to us, and we are committed to expressing this faith both in our worship on Sunday and in our daily lives throughout the week. We express our worship through singing, prayer, music and the arts. Our pastors provide us with challenging sermons that help us put our faith into practice. We try to engage the Bible with integrity, and wish to be a safe place to grow spiritually with the freedom to explore and ask questions. We have a strong sense of being "community" for each other at CMC. We welcome new people to our community and encourage them to share their faith journeys with us. We enjoy and celebrate the talents of each person and utilize these gifts in our worship, lay leadership, outreach and service, and other church activities. We value and welcome diversity at CMC. We are an inclusive congregation that seeks to follow Jesus' example by affirming all people as children of God. We wish for our congregation to be a safe place for our differences. We are trying to learn how to better listen to each other and talk more easily with the edges of our diversity. As Mennonites, we strive to follow Jesus' example of how one can live a life of peace, nonviolence, forgiveness and reconciliation. We seek to be in good relationship with God, with our neighbors and with the earth. We seek to share the gospel and God's love with our community, neighbors and the world around us. We wish to be a voice in our local and global communities, and advocate for the poor and oppressed and be actively involved in ways that address those needs. We strive to support worldwide efforts of peacemaking and justice work. Some of our efforts have included: assembling school and grooming kits, making comforters for war-torn areas around the world, collecting medical supplies, establishing a sister church relationship with a congregation in Colombia, and supporting members of our community in following God's call to minister here in Columbus and in other parts of the world.
