Junior Youth The Junior Youth group has three youth sponsors and gathers once a month for social activities that include hiking, swimming, putt-putt golf, skating, bowling, camping, movie viewing, games and service projects. This year our junior youth walked in the Columbus CROP Walk. In June 2007, some of our youth participated in an intergenerational service trip to Montana de Luz in Honduras. Below is a scheduled of the planned activities for the 2007-08 school year. We have a mentoring program that pairs
our youth with an adult in the congregation when he or she enters sixth
grade. October 14 - CROP Walk; youth will solicit & collect pledges then do a 5 k walk in downtown Columbus (starting at Bicentennial Park); we'll eat a quick lunch at church, then carpool down to walk; parents are welcome to join us! November 11 - Swimming at Worthington Rec Center; pick-up will be at pool at 3 pm December 9 - Christmas party at CMC with white elephant exchange and games; pick-up at 4 pm January 13 - Sledding (movie at Carriage Place or The Screens will be our back-up plan if weather doesn't cooperate); followed by hot chocolate at the Halterman's; pick-up will be at the Halterman's around 3 pm February 10 - Ice skating at the Chiller at Easton (~$6); open skate doesn't begin until 1:30 so pick-up will be at 3:30 pm at the Chiller March 9 - Bowling at Capri Lanes at SW corner of 161 & 71 (~$10); pick-up at Capri Lanes at 2:30 pm April 13 - Trip to see cavern (~$10-12); details TBA May 18 - Canoeing along Darby Creek; details TBA June 8 - Putt-putt golf at Fantasy Golf (NE corner of 161 & 71) July 13 - Swimming/picnic at Alum Creek August
10 - Junior Youth may be helping with Vacation Bible School which starts
on this date; alternative plan is to go hiking; location TBA
