Christian Education Classes for Adults

You are invited to join us during our Christian Education hour beginning at 11 am. We have Christian Education classes for people of all ages.

The goal of our adult Sunday school program is to help us:

  • learn about the Bible and other key texts related to living lives of faith,

  • grow to know and care about each other more deeply,

  • make connections between what we are taught and how we are living our faith, and to practice faith and spiritual disciplines.

Each quarter, we offer a variety of class options including study of the scriptures and discussion/study on contemporary faith issues. Our church bulletin provides the current topics and locations of our classes. This quarter, we are offering the following classes for adults:

Adult Christian Education

We provide Christian Education classes for all ages. The following are our adult class offerings this quarter (December-February):

Sermon Response gives you the opportunity to be part of a discussion about the topics and scripture presented in the sermon and other parts of the worship service (children’s story, hymns, etc.).  Each session is separate from the others, so you are welcome to attend as you like.

A Hunger for Healing explores the Twelve Steps of recovery. No previous experience with the 12 Steps is required. J. Keith Miller’s book, A Hunger for Healing, along with an accompanying series of videos, serves as a starting point for discussion and exploration of the 12 Steps as a “design for living that really works”.

Great Themes of Scripture presents the teaching of Franciscan priest Richard Rohr, who treats the Bible as one inspired theology, rather than as a collection of isolated books. Each class we will listen to a CD by Fr. Rohr, followed by discussion.  You are welcome to come to whenever you like.

Parenting Class will feature a parenting discussion on a topic that is of interest to the person who leads class that day. Classes will begin January 8.
