According
to the purity definition
of the Pharisees, who is
in and out?
-
According
to the purity definition
of Jesus, who is in and
out? Who might hear his
new definition as bad
news? As good news?
-
How
does your own quest for
purity compare with that
of 1st century Jewish
rabbis? With that of
Jesus?
For
Your Spiritual Growth
- In
verses 21-22, Jesus
makes this observation:
"For it is from
within, from the human
heart, that evil
intentions come:
fornication, theft,
murder, adultery,
avarice, wickedness,
deceit, licentiousness,
envy, slander, pride,
folly."
Which one of these
twelve intentions lives
in your heart? How has
it affected the
trajectory of your
life?
What steps toward
greater purity have you
already taken? With the
help of Christ, what
additional step toward
purity would you like to
take?
