| The
core value is keeping
and acquiring honor,
and conversely,
avoiding shame. |
The
core
value is acquiring
money, and conversely,
avoiding poverty. |
| Honor
is a more important
medium of exchange
than money. If you
really want to reward
someone, you give them
more honor. |
Money
is the most important
medium of exchange. If
you really want to
reward someone, you
give them more money. |
| The
primary purpose of
money
is to
"buy" more
honor for yourself by
giving expensive
gifts, or favors, to
others. |
The
primary purpose of
money is to buy
objects for one's
personal pleasure, or
to buy a sense of
personal security. |
| The
world's supply of
honor is limited.
Since the supply of
honor cannot be
expanded, the only way
to get more for
yourself is to take it
away from others. |
In
theory, the supply of
capital (including
money) is unlimited.
It is possible to
create more capital
without taking it away
from others. |
| When
personal or family
honor is lost, people experience
shame, which
involves social, or
public, disgrace. |
People
often experience
guilt, which involves private
remorse. |
